Review of Stone (2010) by Tamal D — 21 Jan 2011
A cast of pure talent is rendered useless by a plot that drags itself into the darkest corners of preposterous scenarios and beats itself unconscious with an eerie sense of "we've all just given up".
It is films like this that I believe might drive me the most crazy, the film that contains an unfathomable amount of talent and yet casts it into the breeze like a handful of dust, Nothing can dilute powerful actors like a story lacking boldness.
Norton, sadly is lost amidst this abyss of ill-paced frivolousness, and he is undoubtedly one of my more favorite actors. I can't make it out to be all too terrible though, as there is some minor pleasure to be taken from it's plot, and there, if one chooses to look close enough, is a sparkle of great performance still left in there.
It is not to be considered a must-see, but, one may find it worth a quick viewing to kill some time.
