Review of Stone (2010) by Dustin W — 30 Mar 2011
You've got to feel sorry for Jovovich! People look down on her ability because they only see her in Resident Evil movies but when she does amazing work as in this film then it's largely ignored.
Here she is working against another excellent turn from Norton (putting in the effort) and a fine, although understated turn from De Niro. Conroy is also good as De Niro's wife. Unfortunately the story itself doesn't seem to go anywhere and the explosive finale you expect from the beginning never materializes.
I'm sure there was meant to be something 'deep' about this film but I couldn't fathom it and I was left unsatisfied. Plus points for great acting though.
