Review of Stone (2010) by Ashli N — 09 Feb 2012
This lil' indie film that snagged a cast of A-listers could have made for an interesting story on morality. Unfortunately, Stone is a flawed film that's overloaded with Christian propaganda. What's worse, the intense opening scene places a huge elephant in the viewer's head, yet Stone doesn't come close to addressing it in a satisfying matter.
The performances from the three leads are good (particularly Norton who continues to show that he's one of the most committed actors of this generation) but the film is ironically like it's title character: vulgar, confusing, and unsympathetic.
