Review of Stone (2010) by Matt S — 12 Aug 2011
This film has something to say, but can't quite wrap its' finger around it. De Niro and Norton are great, but Milla Jovovich upstages them both. As far as the acting goes, they're all turning in good performances, and that's nice to see. Ultimately though, the film turns out to be a character study about two men who are at opposite sides of their lives. I didn't expect that at all.
It's OK. I kept waiting for some huge twist or event to come, but it didn't. However, the final frame of the movie was pretty good. So, it's worth a watch, but you get the feeling had someone like Brian De Palma done this in the 90s, it would've been far sexier, slimier and more thrilling.
