Hmm, I liked this better when it was called Drumline. Stomp the Yard is yet another formulaic entry in the worn out 'Dance Movie' genre. And calling this a dance movie is far from accurate. Stepping is a body art much the way gymnastics are, but we don't call gymnastics dancing do we? And that's well and good, but then they add in 'Krumping' don't get me started on Krumping. Well, you have, so: KRUMPING IS NOT DANCING! You're seizing on the dance floor! I don't applaud that, I call the ambulance for that! I can Krump in my chair! Any dancing that can be done in a chair isnt dancing!

BUT far be it for me to judge a movie in a genre I don't like, solely because I don't like the genre. No, it's just that the movie is bad. And I mean that from a production standpoint. The dialog in this movie is cringe-worthy and the set up is pure cheese. I give this movie two stars for two things: One star for Columbus Short's acting and one star for Meagan Good's ass. Columbus is a great actor who does what he can with a terrible script. But hey, I suppose it's better than both of the Step Up flicks so, that's got to count for something right?
