Review of Stomp the Yard (2007) by Kathy M — 20 May 2012
This film was great in taking me back to college where there is a special flavor and tradition at HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). It took me back to what we used to call "Greek shows" and "Stomp Shows"--in the north caled "Step Shows"--and the fun that they were.
I also had a chance to expose my Italian husband to another part of African American culture and he came away from the theater dancing his butt off! I love dancing movies ad so does hubby so we liked this one together.
I heard a teen say that this is a movie NOT to take a boyfriend because the young men are really nice to look at in he film--and she is right. There are some very handsome young men as it is about a fraternity challenge.
The lead actor was very good as well as nice to look at! Don't tell my husband I said that though!{:^D}.
