Review of Stolen Kisses (1968) by Harry C — 29 Aug 2006
8/10.
Unlike its predecessors The 400 Blows or Jules and Jim, Stolen Kisses has more of a personal agenda. It follows Antoine Doinel through various jobs and romantic situations and is not really about anything in particular. But this ambiguity is what makes it so refreshing. Add in amazingly complex characters, realistic and original dialogue, and some of the wittiest lines that didn't go over my head and you've got yourself one of the most "adult" films about relationships this side of Woody Allen.
