Review of Stolen Kisses (1968) by Mrcn M — 02 Jul 2007
The Antoine Doinel series are a beautiful homage to humanity, from start to finish. It's extraordinary in theory to document a life from childhood to adulthood, but to have that captured on film is truly stunning.
The viewer not only grows up with Antoine Doinel, but with Jean-Pierre Leaud. Claude Jade and Leaud were two of Truffaut's favorite actors to work with and his connection with them is evident in their marvellous performances.
One of my favorite films.
