Review of Stolen (2012) by Leon B — 04 Aug 2013
Review:
This is another let down from Nicholas Cage who just can't seem to do anything right nowadays. The storyline is really average and the actors all seem to overact throughout the movie. Although Nicholas Cage is trying to save his daughter, all of the action scenes seemed a bit unnecessary and you don't really care if he saves her or not. In every day life, if someone is driving around you your daughter in the boot, I'm sure that it would be easier if the police just stops the car, which was what made the film so ridiculous. The director could have at least put some twists or he could have made the audience use there mind, but its just a basic movie without much substance. Missable!
Round-Up:
Man, Nicholas Cage is really going downhill lately and he doesn't seem to want to come back in the limelight with a blockbusters. He keeps on picking these dodgy roles to pay of his bills, but it sure that it would make more sense to get his respect back so he could get picked for major roles. There isn't anyone else famous in the movie so the director was really relying on Nicholas Cage to carry the film on his shoulder, which was a bad idea. I just hope that his career doesn't go down the pan like Val Kilmer, Mel Gibson etc.
Budget: N/A.
Worldwide Gross: $2million.
I recommend this movie to people who like there crime capers with thrilling action in the normal Cage way. 2/10.
