Review of Stoker (2013) by Drago? C — 29 Jun 2013
Moody and atmospheric Stoker blends Southern Gothic aesthetics with a slow-paced camera style and haunting piano music that manages to build suspense with every extended frame or lingering shot. The script is by no means innovative but it serves its purpose well, relaying with Faulknerian undertones the drab but elegant life of old money.
The result is a great thriller with a great pair of leads that manage to turn this into a movie worth remembering and rewatching.
