Watching Stoker evokes the sentiment of watching storm clouds gather from a distance; the certainty of inevitability and the fear of what might emerge from the dark clouds as the storm takes over. While its story is nowhere near extraordinary, the ominously precise details captured throughout the film make for a haunting experience that cannot be felt through conventional thrillers.

Fans of Director Chan Wook Park's works should be able to overlook the mediocrity in the script for the terrifying beauty of a film that Stoker is.
