Review of Stoker (2013) by Christophe C — 30 Jul 2013
After the mysterious death of our main character's father, India and her mother take in his enigmatic brother who suddenly appears after years of traveling around the world.
India soon discovers she shares more than a bloodline with her uncle as events soon start to shift to the macabre.
Chan Wook Park first English language film does not disappoint, as he creates a Hitchcockian film with an asian asthetic. With visuals that are surprising and inventive matched with an amplified foley track, to accentuate India's ability to hear things most people cannot.
Stoker is a feast for our eyes, ears and mind.
