Review of Stitches (2011) by John W — 07 Jan 2014
Stiches focuses on the untimely death of a terrible children's party clown at a terrible children's party and his return from the grave to seek revenge ("...a clown with an unfinished party can never rest in peace.
..") in this satiric send up of teen horror, that wants to be dark comedy, but is more ironically silly and a bit light on the laughs and dialogue (most of the funny moments are grossfest gory, and the clown kills are clever, but it's so over the top that less would have been more).
Clowns are scary, so it's a great premise to work from, and there are some great moments but overall it's a little under-realized here and that keeps good from becoming great.
