Review of Stir of Echoes (1999) by Andrew H — 03 Jul 2008
A terribly underrated film, largely due to its coming out at the same time as "The 6th Sense". Genuinely interesting ideas about the power of the human mind and the shadows that past events cast onto the present are complimented by an admirably restrained use of special effects and a great performance from the consistently excellent Kevin Bacon.
Actually, the only complaint I have about this film is one line, where Kevin is strumming a tune stuck in his head. "Where have I heard that tune before?" It's Paint It Black by The Stones, you 'tard!
