Review of Stir Crazy (1980) by Lee B — 13 Sep 2007
The only part of this movie that I actually enjoyed (and believe me, I enjoyed it immensely) is the scene where they get to jail. Richard Pryor tells Gene Wilder that they have to start acting "bad" so they don't get beat up.
Their ridiculous swaggers and refrains of "that's right, we bad" and "we don't take NO shit" are hilarious. It's especially amusing when an inmate tells Pryor he's a short son of a bitch and all badness is out the window, "Yes I'm a short son of a bitch, my daddy was a short son of a bitch, my mother was shorter than him, and my brother, my brother was so short we couldn't even see him.
" I watched that scene something like seven times.
