Review of Still Mine (2012) by Ryan K — 10 Feb 2014
It's funny how the people behind the Oscar nominees nominate an old man that is hardly known such as Bruce Dern but most likely never even considered Cromwell for 'Still Mine'. He makes the film come to life with his despair, frustration and unconditional love.
You may question every character and their ideas of what's right but it is clear that the father, the husband, will always make his best decision for his wife and family. Denial for something that is so devastating to ones heart can create for either a more comfortable or viatile situation.
Behind all the hardships that come with age like weakness, memory loss, you still get the moments of childlike compassion and flirtation between this senior couple.
