Review of Still Life (2015) by Carlos C — 09 Nov 2014
An interesting film despite it's subtle and slow nature. A man spends his life tracking down friends and family of those who die in apparent anonymity. It's pretty clear throughout that he is one of those people too.
As the film unfolds the anonymous death grows into a life that did have an impact while very little is ever revealed about the protagonist other than the fact he cares about those no-one else seem to.
Eddie Marsan is great throughout and the film isn't too heavy-handed except for the closing moments but I forgive that indulgence as it's a very powerful and poignant ending.
