Review of Still Crazy (1998) by Lashley P — 28 Aug 2009
It is compared to Fully Monty but felt FM was more consistently good, certainly laughed more. Still Crazy was hit and miss, some laugh out loud moments, more wistful and instrospective. Even so, at the end of it, when "he" came on the stage, I was smiling, enjoying the music, and it was pretty cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Bill Nighy and Stephen Rea in parts that are not their typical characters. Always love Billy Connolly and this time was no exception although not a lot of screen time. Discovered Jimmy Nail and will look to see if he has done anything else.
If the credits didn't lie, loved the fact that Nighy, Nails, and Connolly (of course, already knew) did all their own singing. Not sure if I will own but I am looking up the soundtrack.
