Review of Still Alice (2014) by April K — 24 Feb 2015
After having read, and loved, the book by Lisa Genova, I highly anticipated seeing the movie adaptation. I was not disappointed. I was concerned about the medium getting it right. The book is from the perspective and viewpoint of Alice Howland (Julianne Moore).
This wasn't lost in the movie. I felt every bit of her tragic disorientation. Kristen Stewart ( Alice's daughter) really surprised me in this role. I gained a new appreciation for this young actress.
I recommend the movie.
