Review of Still Alice (2014) by Ray H — 01 Mar 2015
A good story, is well told. Our tragic heroine, Alice, is very ably played by Julianne Moore. Ms Moore always gives a very competent and realistic performance. The power of the story lies in the very rare occurrence of early onset Alzheimers disease. The dramatic impact is contained principally in 2 or 3 intense scenes. The audience is left to extrapolate the disease to the more typical, later in life, onset of the disease. The progression of the disease is depicted well.
The rest of the cast does not have much to do. They are all competent and believable.
It was an interesting trip to the flics.
