Review of Still Alice (2014) by Don H — 14 May 2015
Besides being very obvious Oscar bait, I still felt its impression of disability was very white and very upper class. People with disability don't often have the financial means and familial support to live as she does. It very much suspends belief for a lot of the movie for how she comes to terms with early onset dementia.
Anyway, Julianne Moore put in an moderately good performance in what was a weak year for Oscar nominees.
