Review of Stigmata (2009) by Elizabeth M — 29 Sep 2009
Stigmata is very thought provoking. As the movie advocates, the Church is not needed for one to find God.
As a Fan of Byrne and Arquette I just loved the Movie. And the fact its very provoking towards someone who thinks they are better then those who dont believe in God.
I can hardly wait for the sequel which is announced.
Trivia.
Did you know that the male voice in the Scene quoted below: coming out from Frankie(Patricia Arquette) was Gabriel Byrnes?
Gabriel hearing himself attacking his faith.
Quote from my Favorate Scene ever.
Father Andrew Kiernan: Why did you paint over the Wall?
Frankie: I got bored, and I got sick of looking at that thing.
Frankie: I really wish you werent wearing that Uniform.
Father Andrew Kiernan: It has got nothing to do with Uniform. Believe me.
Frankie: Well, what is it? You took a vow to be dead from the Neck down?
Come on I have seen the way you look at me. You know the way I that I feel about you.
Father Andrew Kiernan: NO!
Frankie: Why? Because I painted the wall out? Is that it?
So now I`m no use to you, right. Is that it?
Frankie Shouting: Answer me!
You are so proud of your holy abstinence!
Like touching a women would kill you!
Women are dirty little complications!
Thats why you became a Priest!
It has nothing to do with your convenient little stories.
Oh you`re so proud of your Church of Virgins and eunuchs!
Frankie grabs a knife.
How`s your Faith these days Father?!
How`s your Faith these days!
This is what you fucking call God!
Special thanks to one of my best friend S"coop" who took Extra time to copy the subtitles for the Quotes for me.
A very great Quote from a youtube user: She bleeds tears? because the sacred feminine is suffering and mother earth, we live in a symbolic reality too equally to mind and body's logic and reason.
