Review of Stigmata (2009) by Jason R — 08 Nov 2009
So Stigmata is directed by Rupert Wainwright who brought us Blank Check and The Fog remake so right off the bat you could be thinking, not gonna be worth my time and well to that I would say that your opinion on this film could swing both ways into the " I hate this garbage" or "this isn't that bad" direction.
For me I would have to say that this falls into the not that bad file becasue I am a sucker for a great soundtrack and some really good photography and this has both. It was shot in such away that was both creepy/artistic, and in some scenes down right beautiful. Alas, the movie suffers from a so-so script that is only so-so becasue of the two leads Patrica Arquette and Gabriel Byrne who were the only reason this movie was even remotely watchable.
So it is up to you, for fans of horror or religious themed films you might want to check this one out. Otherwise you may just want to skip this one.
