Review of Stick It (2006) by Liz K — 26 Jul 2013
What a bizarre little mess of a disjointed movie. Rebellious teen is rebellious because parental suckage means it's okay to break laws and be destructive and whatnot. So as a result we should dislike people she's fucked over.
We should also be happy when bitchy girl finds love cause her parents suck too. Absolutely everyone was completely unlikeable. Then the movie took some weird bizarre twist in tone, but I guess we're supposed to be stoked about finding ways to use non-conformity productively? The soundtrack was enjoyable, and the leotards were cute.
I do like Jeff Bridges, and Vanessa Lengies didn't drive me to the death wishes I have for her on Glee (she was the one I had decided I was okay with dying in a school shooting, and would've probably paid the writers to make it happen).
I feel rather like I just wasted the past 2 hours of my life.
