Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Tuna M — 28 Dec 2015
Boyle and Sorkin swing for the fences, but it's just off the end of their bat. Steve Job had all the pieces it needed to be great. One of the best actors working today, a fantastic screenwriter and an accomplished director.
I liked a lot about Steve Jobs. I credit Boyle for his choices in format, Sorkin for his unique approach in telling a story and the cast for giving fairly decent performances. It is, however, the execution of said story that is such a let down.
It's rushed yet uneventful at the same time. A lot of Petty drama that while I'm sure is important to the man Steve Jobs, but is entirely unnecessary in the film of that title. I mean, is the movie about Steve Jobs road to success or his daughter? I really don't know.
It's better than Jobs with Ashton Kutcher, but I'm starting to wonder wether or not Steve Jobs will ever have a successful movie about him. We'll have to wait and see.
