Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Marco P — 31 Dec 2015
It's hard to watch this movie and not compare it to Jobs (Ashton Kutcher movie) and the more potent TV film Pirates of Silicon Valley. Then when I saw how the film unfolded and how the story was being told, I was thrust into the old Greek dramas playing at the agora. The same characters moving through time, piecing the story of one of history's most venerated (or vilified) business leaders.
The story gives us different angles of Steve Jobs, and finally someone dares to ask the right questions ("what exactly did you do?"). Isaacson's book gives direction to this tale, which Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin exploit to the full. Fassbender does a terrific job with the character, purposefully veering away from the vitriolic Jobs we've heard about and into the introspective man we never knew.
