Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Saunil D — 04 Jan 2016
Fassbender encapsulates Jobs's impatient energy, bravado, and sheer assholism perfectly. Sorkin and Boyle try to distill his life and times into three product launches in the 80s and 90s, and it does flirt with greatness, but it never seems to break free of its own constraints.
In that way, it's a fast paced character study with a lot dialogue, hot heads, and a man who had the hardest time reconciling his own greatness with two legacies: that of the technological/social progress he knew he could pioneer, and a family he had no idea what to do with.
