Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Ben R — 14 Nov 2015
So here I am disagreeing with the average Flixster punter again. Oh dear. Loved 'Burnt' last week, but not impressed with 'Steve Jobs' this..
Trying to define why I didn't like it is not easy. It was well acted, Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslett were excellent. Maybe it was that Jobs came across as totally unlikeable with no redeeming factors. We were never really shown what made him such an iconic figure- apart from being rather good at shouting at people.. His excuse - he was adopted. Ah, bless..
It all seemed a bit shallow. I wanted to know more about the characters. Danny Boyle suggested that he wanted to build up the plot slower; but the 2 hours was plenty if the time would have been used more wisely. I have loved all of Danny Boyle's work so far; this, in my opinion, wasn't his finest hour..
