Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Robin F — 23 Oct 2016
I never took the time to ever watch the real steve jobs give a speech, introduce his products or do an interview. I tell you what, I enjoyed watching M.F. play him on the screen.
Kate Winslets nomination deserved and she should have won!
With the so called snub of blacks, I just don't see it. Not really. I am black for the record. I honestly think Beasts of No Nation should have gotten some recognition. Attawa was awesome in that movie. He is just a child but he did some pretty good acting. As I said before I haven't watched Concussion as of yet. Will is a good actor and he has had some gems. I think people are missing the big picture. There is definitely racism in Hollywood as it is every where. The Oscars is not the place to rectify that. I watched all of these movies. I also Creed, and Straight out Compton. Which are both good movies. When you talk about the Oscars and you have movies like Spotlight, Revenant or this one Steve Jobs. The performances these actors are putting out are remarkable. The writing, the directing.. all remarkable. Beasts is the only black movie in 2016 that came some what close to any of these movies. In my opinion it was subject matter and Attawa that brought it even a SOMEWHAT close. Blacks didnt get snubbed at the Oscars. They aren't putting out the work. It is probably more that they aren't getting the opportunities to do big movies. Whatever it is..the issues are in the casting, directing, writing etc of the movies my people are in thats where the snub is...not at the award show.
