Review of Stepfather 2 (1989) by Wk J — 15 Oct 2009
Generic sequel that go's through the motions, but at least has a competent director and is fast paced. The problem is with the script that is so damn one dimensional. Everyone is either so damn boring or annoying that you know the Stepfather is going to kill them.
It is also very contrived opening, but a very fun sequence at the end, when it's the Stepfather's wedding day. The Stepfather isn't given anything new to do though, and the soundtrack is really dated and belongs in Days of our Lives or something. I hated it.
Your typical sequel, but at least it has Terry O'Quinn returning. More humor the the first one too, but I don't know if that's a good thing. The scene where Stepfather watches the dating tapes was funny as hell though.
I didn't really need a sequel to the Stepfather though.
