What is there to say about Step Up Revolution that already hasn't been said before? If you follow dance movies or MTV in general, odds are you have seen the commercials for the latest addition to the break dancing franchise: Step Up Revolution.

This movie is generic, horribly acted, horribly written, and just as predictable as a Saturday morning cartoon. The story is as simple as the writers could have possibly made it: a flash mob wants to make it big but when their home town is threatened by a big business man, they decide to protest through dance.

Take that idea and add a sappy and unbelievable love story and you have the basic idea in a nutshell. This movie plays out exactly as you think it will and ends exactly how you expect it will. When you can figure out the whole movie from a description, somebody has royally screwed up somewhere.

On top of the predictability is the acting. I have seen better acting in movies like Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie. All the actors phone in their performances making this movie all the more boring.

The only real redeeming factor in this movie are the dance scenes featuring the flash mob known as "The Mob". They looked awesome and I actually had fun watching most of them. However, while there were some great ones, there were also ones that looked like bloopers from Dirty Dancing and lets face it, if you've seen one person do the robot, you've seen them all.

Even the dance numbers become repetitive, but they redeemed themselves with the final dance scene. While the acting was bad and it was so terribly predictable, no words can express the lack of intelligence in the writing department.

There are some lines of dialogue that make Snooki off of Jersey Shore seem like a college professor. Honestly, there is one line where they say that their art cant be for fun anymore, but it has to mean something.

Art has to mean something to be art. Kids in kindergarten art classes have meanings behind the stick figures they draw. Even worse is the lack of knowledge when it comes to the word "corrupt".

The "villain" of this movie who is supposedly corrupt, acquire the rights to build his hotels 100% legally and is not in any way, shape, or form, corrupt. the writers threw that word in the make the characters sound sophisticated, clearly, it didn't work.

Another main gripe in this movie is how they pander to other movies that came out this summer which range from Magic Mike all the way to The Dark Knight Rises. There is an entire dance number where the flash mob is dressed to look like Bane from The Dark Knight Rises in order to convince the people that the hotel owner is corrupt and so they can liberate their neighborhood.

It is just sad to see their creativity stoop to new lows like that. Overall, this is a terrible, brain-dead movie that you can guess the outcome by looking at the trailer.
