Review of Step Up Revolution (2012) by Sandi M — 06 Sep 2012
Well, I was really looking forward to seeing "Step Up Revolution"...and I was not completely disappointed, yet the 4th installment of the Step Up franchise is far away from being the best one.
Yes, the Real3D is amazing, the soundtrack awesome as always and the dance scenes are once again absolutely original and fantastic BUT they somehow are not as inspiring and jaw-dropping as the ones of Step Up 2 and 3 - pity.
Also, the script writers tried a little too hard to come up with a "serious" plot and the lovestory between the two leads basically is a copy of Step Up 3. It was a good chuckle when the House of Pirates (Step Up 3) was mentioned and YAY! for the brief (yet definitely cool) appearances of Adam Sevani as Moose (he's epic!), Chadd Smith as Vladd (he rocked the Robo Style in the 3rd movie) and Mari Koda as Kido, but they cannot lift the movie above the "watchable with good moments (that would be the dance choreos)"-level.
