Review of Step Brothers (2008) by Corey S — 25 Aug 2013
One of Will Ferrell's top films, "Step Brothers" follows two forty year old washups still living with their parents as they try to cope with being step brothers. The film starts crazy, and ends the same way.
It keeps a strong comedic tone throughout, but decides to switch for a more sad tone towards the end, which fits the film nicely. It is a nice change of pace for Will Ferrell, as it has an underlying message of the importance of family, but it doesn't sacrifice the jokes for the message, and vice versa.
All of the actors do great, with Richard Jenkins giving a memorable performance as the father. The film ends on a happy note, reuiniting the entire family, and it leaves you with a smile on your face.
