Review of Step Brothers (2008) by Tr J — 03 Jan 2015
Step Brothers is rampant with irrelevance and common comic mischief but the truth is you knew it would be. Aside from its absolute hilarity, there is a hidden message even Mr. Ferrell and Mr. Reilly seem ignorant of (but perhaps that's part of the genius); that deep within every middle-aged man is a burning desire to return to childhood, if only for the length of a film that helps them to visualize that with fresh, golden comedic splendor.
It's a stretch to call Step Brothers any sort of masterpiece, but it is destined to become a timeless classic.
