Review of Steel Rain (2017) by Erich W — 23 Mar 2018
The fact that 57 percent of the audience liked it, and most of them are probably American like me, well, it simply proves that Americans don't know what a beautiful movie is anymore. "Steel Rain" is full of actors that are so good you can't tell they're acting, but the American's didn't like that because well, acting is our way of life and anything that's natural is weird! The characters are so well developed we care about them, but we don't like that, because we don't care about anyone and we just want to see stuff blow up.
The cinematography is simple and we hate simple. I am so ashed to be a part of modern American cinema. It's movies like this, 13 assassins, stealing Mr Wu, the Howling, that give me hope in modern ciinema, but unless we can appreciate the beauty of these new Eastern films, we're going to create more garbage movies with no character development, stuff blowing up, and cinematography that's on crack.
