Review of Steamboy (2004) by Colleen K — 15 Jun 2007
Without question, one of Katsuhiro Otomo's greatest masterpieces.
Unlike most anime, this film focuses on the genius of human enginuity rather than supernatural powers; the greatness of Science and how frightening it can be when left unchecked.
The animation is astonishing, it's like you're actually in 19th century England. This is almost the kind of film you'd see and discuss in a science class. I highly recommend seeing this film.
