Review of Stay (2005) by David M — 24 Nov 2011
I'm on the fence about this one, watching it, it was, well, slightly annoying and frustrating. Its so artsy, and deliberately trickery, it almost makes you crazy. It does serve a purpose, and has meaning, but its a little too much.
I blame this on director Marc Forster, whose been vastly overrated by movies such as Monsters Ball and Finding Neverland, critical darlings, that are in my opinion good not great. The acting is strong, and the ending is thought provoking.
However, the subtle trickery is just off somehow, pay attention while watching it, or you'll miss a lot.
