Review of State of Grace (1990) by Andy H — 05 Aug 2008
Loved this back in the days of VHS so picked up the DVD and relived the magic. Roaring performances from Oldman and Harris while Penn puts in a great show as man torn between duty and friendship. The film builds to a final scene that is pretty much perfect and manages to still impress 18 years later.
You won't find anything original in this film but it avoids too many clichés and is filmed so beautifully that you just fall in love with each scene.
