Review of State and Main (2000) by Vincent B — 17 Nov 2008
It seemed like it had a confusion of comedic direction. It tried to be smart, slap-stick, screw-ball, and just ridiculous all at the same time, but soo many jokes fell flat. It was kind of awkward to watch.
Most of the performances were good (all big names actors were good) but a few of them felt so fake/stilted. It was entertaining throughout, and had a few good laughs, but it had more bad one-liners.
