Review of State and Main (2000) by Ryan H — 08 Feb 2009

I remember wanting to see this film years ago and never got around to it. I really like David Mamet and was looking forward to a comedy from him. I did enjoy how he pokes fun at Hollywood and the film making process, but overall the film is just ok.

I didn't laugh much at the film and the comedy was kind of predictable. The ensemble cast is fantastic and they all do a good job, especially Alec Baldwin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Overall a decent film, but I was expecting it to be better and was a little disappointed.
