Review of Starting Out in the Evening (2007) by Steven B — 12 Feb 2008
Passable fare, due to some fine acting; only Langella and Taylor manage to navigate their way through a minefield of on-the-nose dialogue. The critical world seems to be all aflutter with this pic, which may be a result of (a) forced empathy with the writer's craft; or (b) the fashionability of male mid-life crisis pics having not yet reached low tide.
Forgettable.
