Review of Starting Out in the Evening (2007) by Peter H — 30 Jan 2010
A story about a story writer and the real life he lives in. He's working on his 5th and probably his last novel, and his life and career is then taken aback by a college student, who happens to be writing a thesis about him.
The student first approaches him to ask if she may have a three month interview on his entire bibliography, and at first he says no because he's afraid of his writing space being evaded. But eventually he gives in and they both go on a journey of self discovery and literary critique.
The books they speak about and their critique may not be intriguing, but the way they argue their points is. Frank Langella is very good in this film, and if ur down to watch a film such as this, I would suggest you do.
