Based on a wonderful, wonderful book, and adapted by that book's author. Some great casting, so I thought this couldn't fail. Unfortunately, it has retained the plot but surgically removed all of the warmth and wit.
A dreadfully mediocre and humour-free way to spend 90 minutes.
