Review of Starsky & Hutch (2004) by Charles R — 14 Aug 2013
I'm not sure if this counts as a guilty pleasure since most people who've seen this movie can completely agree - this Todd Phillips directed retro-spoof is a golden egg hidden under the guise of a pointless remake.
No one in the world was demanding a S&H remake, especially one that added sometimes-good-sometimes-awkwardly-bad actors Stiller and Wilson and a layer of shlock to the whole thing, but somehow Philips is able to pull another Old School and bend that weird formula in all the right ways into an excellent, often hilarious take on the classic TV show.
4/5 Fits perfectly into any 'best when baked' stoner movie collection, and one that your parents might actually like too.
