Review of Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008) by Lee H — 03 Dec 2008
Nowhere near as good as the first two films. This franchise looks like it's on a downhill slope. Though the concept of introducing religion is commendable, the actual script (especially the dialogue) was just plain bad.
The acting didn't help either. All the performances were very rigid as if they were all Vulcans. Directing was adequate for a direct-to-video release but it wasn't helped by the cinematography which came off as amateurish.
Post production probably could have helped the look and feel of this film but you could tell it was mostly shot on a sound stage with green screen and bad CGI all over. There is some nudity for nudity sake but it doesn't make much sense nor does it add to the film.
I was looking forward to this film but now I send a warning to everyone else. Unless you're a big Starship Troopers fan, either pass this one over or go into it knowing what you're going to get.
