Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Josh L — 14 Dec 2010
Director Paul Verhoeven stated in the DVD audio commentary that the message of Starship Troopers was, "War Makes Fascist's of us all". Yet, his film has been yielded a considerable amount of polarized views when it comes to it's political views, moral views, social views, acting and exxxcessive violence when actually all the film is a direct contradiction to everything that has been considered appalling about it. Set out only to satrisize militarism, rascism, fascism and all it's appalling factors, instead of encourage it. So everything Paul Verhoeven throws out at you in Starship Troopers is essential. From the politics, the morals, the social views, the acting, the violence. It is all part of one great, big hilarious satrical joke.
4 Stars.
