This is why I really dig Paul Verhoeven's films. Such a sly satire of war propaganda and fascism. Now, if I saw this movie when I was a kid, the joke would have went over my head. Especially since Independence Day came out a few years earlier.
Bravo, Mr. Verhoeven.
