Sure it's all spectacle and not much more, but the characters are at least likeable, (watch out for Michael Ironside in a fantastic role) and the action scenes and epic scope of this sci-fi action horror reach exhilarating levels that have rarely been bettered.
Prepare for aliens, guns, gore, boobs and a blackly humorous satire of war and state controlled media propaganda.
