I don't get the adulation of Starred Up. I didn't care for any of the characters, and Jack O'Connell confirms his acting ability is limited to 'thug'. The narrative is choppy and unsatisfying and enforces the age old, predictable stereotypes of prison life.
Subplots are started then never tied up, all in all, it didn't educate, interest or entertain.
