Review of Starred Up (2014) by David S — 12 Feb 2015
Starred Up is a grand prison movie that I couldn't really keep my eyes from. Jack O' Connell is fantastic in this, and the rest of the actors did a great job too. The screenwriter was a therapist in the prison that councils guilty people, and it really shows how realistic it is while writing a really great father/son relationship.
The movie is short which I felt more satisfied consider that I think prison films would overstay their welcome if they made it long. The characters are good and sympathetic, it's unpredictable, and there's no soundtrack, until the end that is, which was fitting to a prison movie.
Starred Up is the best prison movie I seen so far and in my opinion, better than Midnight Express.
